Jennifer Hudson Bares Her Soul in “Burden Down” | @IAMJHUD

by Yah Yah

Grammy and Oscar-winning artist Jennifer Hudson releases her impassioned, Sam Lecca-directed visuals for “Burden Down” the second single from her highly anticipated fourth studio album.

Sat at a piano, Hudson belts out her emotional lyrics, which seem to parallel her recent personal issues. JHud then steps away from the keys and lets it all out in a breathtaking acapella moment, singing:

“When I lay this burden down/ Who’s gonna take it up for me/ When you run me in the ground/ That’s the day you’re gonna see/ For all I’ve done I’m alone/ Just for a moment can I not be strong/ So how ’bout now oh can I lay /This burden down”
