The Met Gala is basically the Grammysof the fashion industry and it’s only right that a fashion goddess hosts the event in 2018. That goddess is of course Rihanna!
The Fenty Beauty mogul will host the event along with Donatella Versace and Amal Clooney according to Vogue.
Vogue, the official partner for the Met Gala, made the announcement on Nov. 8th confirming the hosts as well as the theme being Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. The esteemed fashion magazine stated, “Designed to create a dialogue between fashion and the masterworks of religious art in the museum’s holdings, the show will be presented in a trinity of locations: the Anna Wintour Costume Center, the medieval galleries at the Met’s Fifth Avenue location, and further uptown at the Cloisters”
Vogue continued,”Central to the conversation will be the papal garb on loan from the Sistine Chapel sacristy, many of which have never been seen outside the Vatican.”
It’s only right that Vogue chooses someone who slays the event every single year to host, we can only imagine what she’ll wear in 2018, I’m sure we can all count on the fact that whatever the self-proclaimed “bad gal” decides to wear, she’ll kill it!
The 2018 Met Gala will be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 7th, 2018.
