It’s not often we get to see an athlete’s vulnerability on display but it’s nice to know that even the strongest person has an emotional side to them. It’s been a few weeks since she’s given birth to her baby girl Alexis, and Williams decided to pen a sweet open letter to her mom on Reddit.

In her sentiment, she not only gushes over her beautiful baby girl she also thanks her mom. Williams also talks about the plight of being body shamed and even being accused of taking steroids in the past, but being able to pull through it because of her mother’s support.
Serena also expresses her gratitude and acknowledges her realization of her mom’s accomplishments her desire to be such a wonderful role model her her newborn baby!
