by Yah Yah

Teyana Taylor is set to star alongside actor Blair Underwood, Bad Boy rapper French Montana, Taylor Gang boss Wiz Khalifa and Kyle in the Netflix film The After Party. The film, which is currently filming in New York, will be released via Def Pictures, WorldStar Hip Hop, Hunting Lane Films, and Live Nation Productions.

According to Deadline, this is the film’s description:

The pic revolves around two best friends on their last night together trying to achieve a record deal before one heads to college and the other leaves for military service. In one wild night, a lot will go down before the sun comes up and these two lifelong friends either have succeeded on their quest or must go their separate ways.

The idea for the movie was developed by late Worldstar Hip Hop founder Lee “Q” O’Denat, and will be produced by Russell Simmons, Jake Stein, Jamie Patricof, Heather Parry, Trevor Engelson and Doug Banker.

We’ve already bore witness to Teyana Taylor’s acting talents as she has starred in an array of movies including Stomp the Yard: Homecoming, Madea’s Big Happy Family, Cruel Summer and of course, VH1‘s critically acclaimed TV series, The Breaks.

We look forward to seeing her in action on Netflix!
