Cardi B delivered a headline-grabbing night at Madison Square Garden, lighting up NBA Finals halftime in New York City before switching into full mommy mode courtside with her son Wave during Game 3 between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.

The Bronx superstar stepped onto one of basketball’s biggest stages as New York hosted an NBA Finals game for the first time since 1999, bringing a wave of hometown energy that matched the moment. Cardi B performed her track “Bodega Baddie” from her latest album Am I the Drama?, taking center court surrounded by dancers dressed in orange Knicks jersey-inspired outfits.

Fans inside Madison Square Garden got a close-up view of the rap star’s bold entrance, from her floor-length hair flowing as she moved across the court to her gray bodysuit styled for the performance. She kept the momentum going by revisiting the record that first catapulted her into mainstream dominance, performing “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit, which held the top spot for three weeks in 2017.

After wrapping her performance, Cardi shifted from stage spotlight to sideline presence, settling into courtside seats under the basket with her 4-year-old son Wave for the second half of the game. The transition from performer to mom was immediate, as she settled in to enjoy the action alongside her child during one of the most high-profile games of the season.

From her seat, she shared a playful moment on Instagram Stories, panning her camera toward the opposing team’s bench and joking, “They got me right next to the opps! But I’mma be nice, ’cause I know this is a lot for them.”

Cardi’s courtside moment didn’t end there. She was later spotted with Wave alongside industry heavyweights Fat Joe and DJ Khaled after the game at Madison Square Garden, rounding out the night.
