Marvel's Luke Cage stole the show last fall. It's resplendent cast members Mike Colter, Mahershala Ali, Simone Missick, TheoRossi, Erik LaRay Harvey, Rosario Dawson and Alfre Woodard we able to truly bring to life the Harlem-born "Hero For Hire's" story.
As Marvel get prepared to roll out The Defenders later on this year, they're simultaneously getting the ball rolling on season 2 and have already signed two new cast members.
Gabrielle Dennis(The Game, Rosewood) will be joining Luke Cage as Tilda Johnson aka Nightshade. In the original Marvel comics, Nightshade was a formidable foe who built an army of robots to take over Harlem. Tilda Johnson has been described by Marvel as being: "a brilliant, holistic doctor with a complicated history in Harlem where, as much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her."
Mustafa Shakir will be joining the series as superhuman crime boss John McIver aka Bushmaster... "a natural leader, brimming with charisma, whose mission is focused on Harlem and vengeance."
There is not yet an official release date for season 2 of Luke Cage, but it won't be until sometime in 2018. In the meantime, you can watch him in The Defenders which is released on Netflix August 18.
