Ghanaian Singer Efya To Perform At The Gidi Culture Fest In Lagos

The Nigerian youth culture movement, Gidi Culture Fest, has revealed the second wave of acts to grace the stage in Lagos. One of the named acts is Ghanaian singer/songwriter, Efya – an affiliate of Wizkid’s Starboy label.

“Honestly I am always nervous before a show, but I think it’s part of my preparation also because it makes me know that I’m about to kill the show but most of the time and I’m definitely excited which leads to a little nervousness,” Efya said exclusively to ShineMyCrown.

Back in 2016, Efya released her debut studio album ‘Janesis’ which led to her nabbing the of Best Female Vocal Performance at the Ghana Music Awards for the fourth year in a row.

“I was shocked; I won it four times in a row, I was just grateful to have won as many times as I have I honestly want more…!!!”

We think Efya is phenomenal. If you’re able to attend Gidi Culture Fest on March 30th, it’s truly shaping up to be a great lineup, especially with Efya coming through to give y’all a dose of her Black Girl Magic.

“I believe that Black Girl Magic is the power possessed by All Black women worldwide which give us the ability to be able to do whatever it is that we want to do however we want to do it and know that we can be successful because we have the Power To Do .. And Be Great ”

“This isn’t the first time African music has been listened to globally. Many years ago it was considered world music, whereas now it has more of a pop influence, rhythmically but also culturally,” says Chin Okeke, co-founder of Gidi Culture Fest.
