Emmy Award winning actress Lynn Whitfield will be joining the cast of Netflix's adaptation of Trisha R. Thomas' book, Nappily Ever After, to play the mother of Sanaa Lathan's character, Paulette.
'Nappily Ever After' centers around Violet Jones, a woman around whose life seems almost perfect. She has a great career, a hunky doctor as a boyfriend, and all of the life’s trimmings. That is until a trip to salon goes horribly wrong and Violet’s life comes crashing down around her, and she is left to pick up the pieces. Ernie Hudson is also starring in the series as the father of Violet.
Lathan, Tracey Bing(Southside With You), Marc Platt and Jared Leboff will be producing the film, with Benedict Carver, Vincent Cirrincione, and Mark Moran as the Executive Producers.
Whitfield is currently on our screens as First Lady of Calvary Fellowship, Daisy Mae in OWN's television series, Greenleaf.
