Rihanna Channels Nefertiti for Vogue Arabia

by Yah Yah

Rihanna is definitely a queen so it’s only right that she pays homage to one of the most iconic queens in history. If you’re wondering who that is, it’s none other than Queen Nefertiti herself. If the celebrated queen were alive today, she would be ecstatic to see how gracefully the “Diamonds” singer poses as her for the November 2017 issue of Vogue Arabia.

The singer, designer, style icon, and beauty mogul paid homage to the ancient Egyptian Queen wearing a replica of her blue headdress while rocking a colorful snakeskin jacket. The Grammy-winning singer also shared a photo of the shoot dressed in a metallic sheer dress topped off with a dark blue coat.

Stylist for the shoot Anya Ziourova stated â€śRihanna is the modern queen Nefertiti: powerful, intelligent, extremely beautiful, innovative, and revolutionary,” Zioutova continued, “I wanted something that hadn’t been done with Rihanna before even though she makes bold, amazing fashion choices,” she continued. “I wanted to find something special, and it was important for the concept to fit within the Middle Eastern market.”

This iconic cover couldn’t have been celebrated at a better time, as the Barbados native is celebrating yet another accomplishment with her Fenty Beauty line. Since the release of the 40 shade foundation line, it has earned the songstress $72 million in earned media value (EMV). If you’re not sure what EMV is, it’s ‘prescribed metric that quantifies the estimated value of publicity gained through digital earned media and their respective engagement levels.’ Therefore, the Wild Thoughts singer’s brand is worth a lot of money in media currency, it worth so much more since she didn’t need to spend blow the marketing budget, instead using social media to promote the brand.

Congrats to Rihanna she just gets better and better with everything she does!
