Jada Pinkett Smith is pushing back against allegations made in a $3 million lawsuit filed by Bilaal Salaam, denying claims that she caused emotional distress that he says led to weight gain and major disruptions in his life.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Salaam alleges that his interactions with Jada and her family resulted in severe emotional distress. He claims the situation contributed to significant weight gain, the loss of a romantic relationship, and his decision to temporarily leave the country. In the lawsuit, Salaam also states that tensions escalated after he declined to assist Will Smith following his widely discussed Oscars incident, and that he faced threats from individuals within the family’s circle after they learned he was working on a memoir.

Jada has formally responded to those claims in new legal filings, arguing that Salaam has not presented sufficient evidence to support allegations of emotional distress. She contends that his statements alone do not meet the legal standard required, noting that such claims would typically need to be backed by medical records or third-party documentation.

In her response, she describes the accusations as “false” and “uncorroborated,” stating that they are part of what she characterizes as an ongoing effort to draw public attention while targeting her family. She also maintains that she never mentioned Salaam by name in any public statements, disputing the claim that she publicly criticized him.

As part of her legal strategy, Jada is asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit in its entirety, setting the stage for the next phase of the dispute as both sides continue to present their arguments.
