This week, (September 11th), Sportscenter anchor Jemele Hill took to Twitter to express her views on President Trump's white privilege, calling him a "White Supremacist."
In the thread, Hill articulates her views very well, but of course, #MAGA supporters took them out of context and called for the newscaster to be fired. But, many came out in support of Jemele Hill, including former NFL player and activist, Colin Kaepernick.
As for her employers, ESPN? Well, they released this weak-add statement via social media:
We're rooting for Jemele Hill for calling a spade, a spade. ESPN's response should have taken a harder line against white supremacy, but... politics. Even if they choose to let her go, we know a bigger, better opportunity will be waiting for an unapologetically Black Woman who speaks for us!
