According to local outlet The Citizen, the investigation into her death, handled by the Criminal Investigation Department under the Zanzibar Police Force, was completed in April. Officials determined that Ashlee Jenae, whose legal name was Ashly Robinson, died by suicide due to mental distress. She was pronounced dead at a hospital on April 9, the report states.
Ashlee Jenae, who was based in Portland, Oregon, had built a steady online following of about 88,000 Instagram users. Her page featured lifestyle content, including travel moments, date nights, and snapshots of her relationship with her fiancé, Joe McCann.
