Ciara is celebrating a major milestone for her husband, Russell Wilson, after the NFL star officially announced his retirement from professional football following a remarkable 14-year career.

The singer didn’t hold back her admiration as she publicly praised the quarterback, whose journey from Seattle Seahawks standout to Super Bowl champion has made him one of the most recognizable names in the sport.

On Wednesday, June 3, Wilson shared the news with fans through an emotional Instagram video that looked back on his football career. The montage featured highlights from his years on the field alongside personal family moments, giving supporters a glimpse into both the athlete and the man behind the helmet.

As he reflected on his career, Wilson expressed gratitude for the experiences, relationships, and opportunities that came with playing in the NFL. The announcement was shared as a joint Instagram post with Ciara, the Seattle Seahawks, the NFL, and NFL on CBS, which also confirmed his next move as a sports analyst with CBS Sports.

Not long after the post went live, Ciara headed straight to the comments section to celebrate her husband.

“The best in the world!” she wrote. “There’s only one, 3! Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!”

The heartfelt message quickly caught fans’ attention, many of whom have followed the couple’s relationship over the years. Ciara and Wilson, who have been married for nearly a decade, have become known for publicly supporting each other’s careers and celebrating major life moments together.

Wilson’s football journey began in 2012 when he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. Just two years later, he helped lead the franchise to its first Super Bowl championship in February 2014, cementing his place in team history. He remained with the Seahawks through the 2021 season before continuing his career with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants.

While football has been a defining part of Wilson’s life, family has remained at the center of it all. He and Ciara share three children together: daughter Sienna Princess, son Win Harrison, and daughter Amora Princess. Wilson is also a devoted father figure to Ciara’s eldest son, Future Zahir.

The quarterback previously opened up about the role his children play in motivating him each day.

“I think how my kids inspire me, it’s just their passion and love every day,” Wilson told People in September 2025. “I get to do what I love to do. That’s play football and do my day job, and try to do it really, really well.”

Now, as Wilson steps away from the game that made him a household name, he is preparing for a new chapter in sports broadcasting. And if Ciara’s reaction is any indication, he’ll have his biggest supporter cheering him on every step of the way.
