A viral Black baby doll trend in China has sparked global outrage after disturbing videos surfaced showing “Natasha” squishy dolls being mistreated online, a situation that has now escalated further with reports of Black doll gummies being consumed in viral clips.

The controversy centers around a decompression toy widely referred to online as the “Natasha doll,” which has been circulating on Chinese social media platforms. Early videos showed users interacting with Black versions of the doll in ways many viewers have described as disturbing, including punching, stomping, stretching, and pouring boiling water over them. According to reports cited by Bored Panda, lighter-skinned versions of the same doll were largely left untouched, fueling even more concern online.

As the videos continued to spread, an explanation circulating online from a social media user suggested that the darker-skinned doll was chosen for this treatment because it appeared less human-like to some users, while lighter versions reportedly elicited more sympathy. That claim has intensified criticism across platforms, with many viewers questioning the racial implications behind the trend.

The situation has now taken an even more controversial turn. Reports indicate that Black doll-themed gummies inspired by the “Natasha” design are now being produced and consumed in viral clips shared online. The shift from toy to edible form has added a new layer of backlash, with many social media users saying the trend has crossed a serious line.

Across platforms like TikTok and X, users have condemned the content, describing it as harmful and racially insensitive. Critics argue that the repeated targeting of a Black baby-like figure for destruction carries symbolic weight that cannot be ignored.

Content creator Tanaïssa Dee was among those speaking out publicly in a widely shared TikTok video. “Why are Black dolls specifically being put through extreme physical abuse?” she said. “It isn’t enough that the features here are reminiscent of minstrelsy and caricatures that were used in times past to justify the systemic oppression of Black people.”

She continued, “This Africa baby doll lets you stretch it, hit it, squeeze it, debase it, and dehumanize it in any way you want. This is not ok. You can never get me to look at this and think it’s harmless.”

As the videos continue circulating and debate grows online, the “Natasha” doll trend has become a widely controversial.
