An emotional livestream by a mother from a hospital claims her 9-year-old son became unresponsive following exposure to marijuana-infused gummies and a vape device allegedly obtained at school.
In the video, which has circulated across social media platforms, the mother described a frightening sequence of events that began when her son returned home from school disoriented and unable to communicate.
“He was not able to speak, not able to say his name, not even to know where he’s at,” she said, adding that he appeared to be hallucinating and physically agitated.
According to her account, medical staff later determined the child had tested positive for marijuana. She alleged that her son consumed a large quantity of THC-infused gummies—reportedly as much as 2,000 milligrams—and may have also used a vape device prior to becoming ill.
Doctors reportedly told the family that the child was experiencing the effects of being “extremely high” and would need to be monitored until the substances left his system.
A Viral Warning to Parents
The mother said she chose to go live not only to document the situation but to warn other parents about the potential dangers of children being exposed to drugs at school—whether intentionally or accidentally.
“Check your kids’ backpacks,” she urged viewers. “Know what they’re bringing to school and what’s being offered to them.”
She also called on parents who use marijuana products, particularly edibles, to store them securely and out of reach of children.
Edibles, often packaged in bright colors and candy-like forms, can be especially dangerous because they are easy for children to mistake for regular snacks.
