Daphne Joy is speaking publicly after a leaked sex video connected to her past relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs resurfaced online and sparked widespread discussion.
In a statement shared on Instagram, DaphneJoy reflected on the relationship and the circumstances surrounding the video, describing the experience as one of the most painful periods of her life.
“Everybody plays the fool sometime, and I have been the biggest fool,” she wrote. “I just wanted my man at the time to be happy and satisfied. I wanted to fulfill all his desires. Even if that meant breaking my own boundaries. I deeply loved him, and I believed he loved me too.”
Daphne Joy said that with time and reflection, she has come to view the relationship differently.
“It’s still so painful for me to process the harsh reality and truth of that relationship, but as time passes and in my quiet moments, I realize that it was far from love,” she continued.
The model and entrepreneur also claimed that she never consented to being recorded. According to her statement, she was later threatened by another individual who allegedly demanded money in exchange for keeping the footage private.
Daphne Joy said she was subjected to what she described as blackmail and was warned that the video would be released if she did not comply with the financial demands. She explained that she ultimately chose not to meet those demands and later learned the footage had been sold to a media outlet.
The situation, she said, took a significant emotional toll. Daphne Joy revealed that when she was contacted by the company that had obtained the video, she fainted for the first time in her life.
According to her account, the media company later determined that the footage was connected to what she described as an extortion scheme and decided not to distribute it. Daphne Joy noted that these events occurred years ago but said being forced to revisit the experience has been both “triggering” and painful.
She characterized the entire ordeal as a form of abuse and used her statement to share her perspective on what she endured behind the scenes.
The controversy also drew a public response from rapper 50 Cent, who shares a son with Daphne Joy. He reacted to the reports on social media, adding another layer to a story that has continued to generate headlines.
