Gabrielle Union To Star In ‘Bad Boys’ TV Spin-Off

A new TV series based off the Bad Boys movie franchise, starring Gabrielle Union, is reportedly in the works.

Union will carry out her previous role as Special Agent Sydney ‘Syd’ Burnett, an undercover operative with the DEA. Syd is introduced as the sister of Martin Lawrence’s detective character Marcus in Bad Boys II. She ends up falling for Marcus’s partner, Mike Lowry (played by Will Smith), despite her brother’s disapproval. 

Bad Boys II hit theaters 14 years ago, raking in $273.3 million at the box office. Producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Doug Belgrad are currently pushing to get the untitled series picked up by a network. The script is reportedly being written by The Blacklist writers-producers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier.
