Houston is still underwater following Tropical Storm Harvey unleashing over 25 inches of rainfall, with another 25 inches expected to fall by Saturday. Charities and armed forces have been working around the clock to rescue remaining victims of the flooding and to provide shelter to Houston residents who have been made homeless. Beyoncé has stepped forward and pledged her support to her hometown.
In an exclusive statement released Monday afternoon to the Chronicle, Beyoncé revealed that she is working on a plan to help her city.
“My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help,” she said. “I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John’s in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can.”
