Compton Mayor Ends Congressional Race, Reveals She Is Expecting Her First Child

It’s been less than a week since Stacey Dash announced that she would be withdrawing from the Congressional race for Congress. This week, Compton Mayor Aja Brown, also announced that she is ending her challenge to Rep. Nanette Barragán in the 44th Congressional District. Her reason? She is pregnant with her first child!

“I am excited and blessed to announce that my husband of 14 years and I are expecting our first child,” Brown said in a statement released April 5th. “We are overjoyed at the opportunity to become parents and look forward to starting our family.”

Brown announced her intention to run for Congress just a month ago: “Our community deserves an experienced representative that has served in our neighborhood and understands our issue and is committed to real progress,” she said at the time.

We wish Mayor Aja Brown and her husband a happy, healthy pregnancy.
