Kenya Moore Reflects on Being ‘RHUGT’s Breakout Star: ‘I Feel Validated’

When the announcement was made that Kenya Moore was cast on Peacock’s “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip,” many expected the usual fireworks from the reality television star.

And although there were fireworks, Kenya was not the catalyst of much of the conflicts. The other Housewives grew to love her, and for the first time, Kenya says she felt accepted.

“I’ve been doing this for 9 or 10 years, and it is the first time that I’ve ever felt really accepted. I feel validated,” Kenya said in the final episode. “I feel like these women really see me for who I am.”

On the show “Real Housewives of New York,” star Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer joined Kenya in the Bahamas. As did “Real Housewives of New Jersey” stars Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. Beverly Hills Housewife Kyle Richards was also on the trip and Cynthia Bailey from “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

However, despite being close friends on the show, viewers were shocked to see tension between Cynthia and Kenya. Cynthia expressed that she did not feel Kenya had her back on the trip.

Kenya thinks Cynthia is jealous.

“You know, it’s interesting because on my show I’m usually the one that’s being pushed out from the friend circle. But here, I’m vibing with everyone,” said Kenya. “I’m finally feeling like people can see who I really am. And they like me. I think that Cynthia is just jealous because she’s not really vibing with these women.”

Kenya insists she had Cynthia.

“She didn’t see all of the times that I had her back talking to Kyle, and talking to LuAnn…everyone about, ‘No, Cynthia’s a good girl.’ Don’t try to make me look like I’ve done something wrong to you because I have not done anything wrong to you. That’s a trigger for me.”
