Rihanna has teamed up with OVO singer PARTYNEXTDOOR for his new single, “Believe It,” which was released early Friday morning.
The track is Rihanna’s first musical collaboration in three years — as her fans eagerly anticipate her new album.
Over recent months, Rihanna has shared snippets of herself in the studio, and while she has not confirmed too much about the project, she has shared that it would be a reggae album.
“I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album,” Rihanna told EW. “It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks.”
She continued, “We always went into the music this time around saying that we were going to do two different pieces of art. One was gonna be inspired by the music that I grew up listening to. And one was gonna be the evolution of where I’m going next with music.”
Earlier this week, RiRi’s Lionel Clara Foundation revealed that it had donated $5 million to help combat the spread of COVID-19.
“When we first began this year, never could we have imagined how COVID-19 would so dramatically alter our lives. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, this pandemic will affect us all. And for the world’s most vulnerable, the worst may be yet to come,” the statement begins. “Over the past five years CLF has been one of the first organizations to respond to some of the world’s most devastating natural disasters, and we’ve seen firsthand the profound and unintended consequences of not being prepared.”
