Paramount Players has confirmed Taraji P. Henson as the star of What Men Want, a remake of Nancy Meyers’ 2000 hit romantic comedy What Women Want. The new film is a gender-flipped twist on the original pic, which starred Mel Gibson as a New York ad exec who gains the ability to read women’s minds after a freak accident.
The Empire star will play a female sports agent who uses her newfound ability to her professional advantage as she hurries to sign the NBA’s next superstar. The film, which is set for release on January 11th, 2019, will be produced by Girls Trip alum Will Packer and James Lopez, and will see Henson acting as executive producer.
Next year is looking busy for the actress, who’s also set to star in Tyler Perry’s Acrimony and the Screen Gems action movie Proud Mary.
