Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese isn’t dodging responsibility after her team’s latest loss. Following a 79-72 defeat against the Washington Mystics on Tuesday night, the WNBA rookie standout acknowledged her role in the collapse, particularly her seven turnovers.

“For me, 7 TO’s can’t happen,” Reese admitted after the game. “I know I’m trying to make good plays, and I’m looking for the right pass… I gotta be better. That’s on me.”

The Sky (3-8) came out blazing, outscoring the Mystics 26-11 in the first quarter and building a 17-point lead. But the offense dried up in the second half, allowing the Mystics (2-9) to mount a comeback and seal just their second win of the season.

Despite the loss, Reese had another strong statistical showing with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists on 7-of-13 shooting. But her miscues were part of a larger issue: Chicago committed 25 turnovers, resulting in 40 points for Washington.

Leading the charge for the Mystics was Brittney Sykes, who dropped a game-high 32 points on 13-of-24 shooting, helping to overcome a 12-point halftime deficit.

The Sky’s offensive woes continue to mount — they currently rank last in the league in both points per game and offensive rating.

Their defense has also failed to consistently counterbalance the lack of scoring, leading to their current position near the bottom of the standings.

This game marked Chicago’s final appearance in WNBA Commissioner’s Cup play.

They’ll look to bounce back on Saturday, when they host the Phoenix Mercury (8-4) at Wintrust Arena.
