Angel Reese, the newly drafted Chicago Sky player, is entering her rookie season in the WNBA with a bold mindset. Despite being a newcomer to the league, Reese is determined not to hold back and plans to assert herself both on and off the court.

In a recent interview with a local Chicago reporter, the 21-year-old expressed her confidence in being vocal and supportive of her teammates.

She stated:

“I don’t know if they’ve ever had a rookie be so confident coming in…Being able to be super vocal, being able to just step up for them and be there for them.”

Reese emphasized her commitment to contributing to the team, acknowledging her rookie status but not letting it deter her from speaking up.

She added:

“I’m gonna be vocal. I’m gonna be confident…I’m going to push everybody in practice because I know the greatness out of all of you guys.”

Drafted No. 7 overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA draft, Reese gained attention for her stellar performance at Louisiana State University. Her competitive spirit and determination were evident in her college games, particularly in matchups against top opponents like Caitlin Clark from Iowa.

Reflecting on her journey to the WNBA, Reese expressed confidence in her abilities and dismissed doubts from critics.

She said:

“A lot of people didn’t think I would get drafted top 10…I’m super confident in who I am and I know what I can do and my capabilities … I’m not scared of anybody.”

With her unwavering confidence and vocal leadership, she is poised to leave a lasting impression in the league.
