Michelle Sadio, a 46-year-old Black woman, was tragically killed during a triple shooting outside the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church in London last Saturday night.
The attack, which also left two men in their 30s injured, occurred as mourners gathered to attend a wake.
Details of the Incident
Gunshots were reportedly fired from a passing car, targeting attendees outside the church.
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with people running for safety as shouts of “There’s been a shooting!” echoed through the church.
Pastor Lawrence Larbie, who leads the congregation, expressed his devastation, saying:
“It’s shocking. We are really devastated. You are invited to attend the wake, and you end up deceased. You’re killed. Your life is expired just like that.”
Local residents reported hearing cries and screams following the shooting. Some initially mistook the gunfire for fireworks. One neighbor called the incident “crazy” and “scary,” noting that nothing of this nature had occurred in the area before.

While formal identification is pending, authorities believe the deceased woman is Michelle Sadio. Of the two men injured, one remains in critical condition, while the other is expected to recover.
Superintendent Tony Josephs of the North West Command Unit called the incident “truly shocking” and reassured the public that a team of experienced detectives is actively investigating.
No arrests have been made, and the roads near the scene remain closed as inquiries continue.
“This heinous act of violence will not go unanswered,” Josephs added, urging anyone with information to come forward.
