Chrisean Rock has announced a significant change in her career. In a recent interview with Pastor Jamal Bryant, the reality TV star revealed that she is embracing her role as a role model and is no longer interested in pursuing worldly music.
After her highly publicized legal troubles, Chrisean Rock hopes to become a better role model and has focused on a new genre: “Hood Gospel.”
Chrisean Rock was arrested in June this year while attending one of Blueface’s court hearings. She reportedly had a warrant for alleged assault with a deadly weapon. She was later sentenced to 30 days in a California jail. She was then extradited to Oklahoma, where she faces charges including “possession of marijuana with intent to distribute” and “possession of a controlled dangerous substance.”
Earlier, media outlets reported that the rapper could be facing up to eight years for her alleged crimes. Fortunately, she was released far sooner than everyone expected and right after her son’s first birthday.
In a recent interview with Pastor Jamal Bryant, Chrisean Rock expressed her desire to leave her previous lifestyle and pursue a new path in “hood gospel” music.
The interview, which aired earlier this week, revealed a side of Chrisean that many fans had not seen before—one of introspection, growth, and spiritual awakening. Pastor Bryant, known for his motivational sermons and leadership at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, asked the reality star a simple but impactful question: “Do you understand the weight that you carry as a role model?”
Chrisean, visibly moved by the conversation, admitted that she has been coming to terms with the influence she holds, especially over young fans who look up to her. “That’s pretty much why I was like, I’ve been doing a lot and starting over, pretty much. I don’t wanna do worldly music anymore,” she confessed. “I just want to do gospel—hood gospel, I would say.”
As Chrisean Rock embarks on this new chapter, fans are eager to see how she will navigate the world of gospel music.
