“Lord Have Mercy”: Mary Cosby’s Reaction to Her Son’s Secret Marriage Is Priceless

by Gee NY

On a recent episode of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Jr., finally revealed a surprising relationship secret he’d been keeping from his mother for an entire year.

During their coffee-filled confrontation, Mary couldn’t help but ask her 20-year-old son about the persistent rumors concerning his marital status. Her demand was clear:

“Why am I hearing rumors that you’re married? So if I’m hearing it from people, I want to hear it from you.”

Robert sported a sly smile as he kept Mary in suspense. He replied, “I don’t know,” until Mary beseeched the “lord” to “let it be no.” At that point, Robert confessed, “I mean, kinda, yeah.”

He went on to reveal that he had been to the courthouse, leaving Mary wide-eyed and exclaiming, “Lord have mercy.”

However, Mary couldn’t hide her disappointment at not being included in her only son’s nuptials. Robert explained that he and his wife had deliberately kept their marriage “low-key” and had actually been married for nearly a year.

Touched by her emotional connection to her son, Mary expressed her vulnerability, saying, “I just have you. I’m going to cry.” In a heartfelt moment, Robert reassured her with a smile and even moved to give her a comforting hug.

Mary’s son’s simple “yeah” response when asked if he believed he made the right decision didn’t entirely convince Mary. She shared her concern that he might not be ready for marriage and needed to “man up.”

The drama didn’t end there. Later in the episode, Mary shared her feelings of being excluded from her son’s secret marriage with her friend Meredith Marks. She emphasized how everyone else seemed to know about it, but she didn’t.

Mary Cosby returned to “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” for the fourth season, and her unique humor and directness were welcomed by the cast. Her presence adds a distinctive flavor to the show.
