From the Clinic to the Crown: Beautiful Medical Doctor Named Miss Universe Jamaica 2025

Medical doctor and ophthalmologist Dr. Gabrielle Henry has been crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, proving that beauty and brains can shine on the same stage.

The 28-year-old will now represent Jamaica at the Miss Universe pageant in Nontharubi, Thailand, on November 21, 2025 — inspiring young women across the Caribbean and beyond.

The coronation took place Saturday night inside a packed ballroom at the AC Hotel in St. Andrew, where Henry was crowned by outgoing queen Rachel Silvera. This victory came after her first attempt in 2023, when she placed in the Top 5.

“Re-entering was something that I reflected on for some time now,” Henry said after the pageant. “This pageant is a platform that allows women to become the finest version of themselves, and I wanted to re-enter to embody that — and to show women, especially those my age, that you can do anything that you want to.”

Henry also swept four sectional awards, including Best Personality and Media Challenge. Crowd favourite Troy Ann Anderson placed second, while Matea Smith came in third. The other Top 6 finalists were Naima Scott, Shiann Excell, and Dreanna Williams.

From the original 27 contestants, the Top 15 also included Nastassia Haughton, Zoan Edwards, Marian Millaneise, Thiana Feanny, Simone Gardner, Rajivea Soman, Barbie Mudahy, Kennya Young, and Keandra Wellington.

Henry’s journey — from the clinic to the crown — is being celebrated as evidence of how perseverance and the pursuit of multiple passions can land women on the biggest stage.
