Reginae Carter is sharing a glimpse into her childhood, revealing that her mother once had to step in and ask Lil Wayne to stop giving her large amounts of money when she was just a young girl.
Speaking candidly, Reginae recalled that her father regularly gave her cash during visits, often handing her $1,000 at a time when she was around eight or nine years old. She explained that the money was separate from any support her mother received and was meant just for her.
One moment in particular stood out. Reginae said she once went to school with the money and used it to pay for everyone’s lunch, a gesture that quickly caught her mother’s attention. After learning what happened, her mom, Toya Johnson-Rushing, reached out to Lil Wayne and told him to scale things back.
According to Reginae, her mother made it clear that the amount was too much for a child to handle, especially at that age. Despite the request, she said the cash gifts continued for some time before her mother insisted that it stop.
Reginae is the eldest child and only daughter of Lil Wayne, who shares her with Toya Johnson-Rushing. The former couple welcomed her in November 1998 and later separated in 2006, maintaining a co-parenting relationship over the years.
As she has grown, Reginae has remained close to her father. In February 2023, she was present when Lil Wayne received the Global Impact Award at the Recording Academy Honors, later sharing her pride in him publicly. She described him not only as one of the greatest rappers but also as a devoted father, reflecting the bond they have continued to build over time.
