Garcelle Beauvais, actress and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, has publicly condemned Donald Trump and JD Vance for spreading false claims about Haitian immigrants.
In a passionate Instagram post on Sept 16, Beauvais, a Haitian immigrant herself, responded to the debunked conspiracy theories shared during a recent debate, where Trump alleged that migrants in Springfield, Ohio, were eating local pets.
Beauvais, who moved to the U.S. at age seven, labeled the remarks as “dangerous” and “disgusting,” emphasizing her refusal to stay silent in the face of such racism.
“The lies spewed about the Haitian community — my community — have been deeply hurtful,” she said.
The controversy sparked increased violence against Haitians in Ohio, including a bomb threat at Wittenburg University, prompting Beauvais to advocate for voting as a means of combating such misinformation.
“We have the power to stop this chaos by voting,” she urged.
Beauvais’s message has received widespread support, with many Hollywood figures, including Jamie Foxx and Andy Cohen, standing in solidarity with her and the Haitian community.
