Florida authorities are investigating the death of a 32-year-old woman who was found inside a freezer at a Dollar Tree store in Miami over the weekend, according to multiple reports.
The Miami Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a call early Sunday after a store employee reported discovering a deceased woman inside a freezer at the Dollar Tree location at 968 SW 8th Street, NBC 6 reported.
When officers arrived, they found the woman’s body inside a freezer located in a back storage area of the store.
Police later identified the woman as Helen Massiell Garay Sanchez, 32.
According to investigators, Sanchez entered the store late Saturday night shortly before closing time. Police said she made her way to the freezer area in the back of the store, where she was not discovered until an employee found her the following morning.
At this stage, authorities have not released details about why Sanchez entered the freezer or what led to her death. Detectives said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances and are in contact with Sanchez’s family as they work to piece together her final movements.
The case remains under active investigation, and police have not indicated whether foul play is suspected.
