American entrepreneur and philanthropist Fawn Weaver has spoken out after a widely circulated video sparked backlash over her interaction with a man who claimed to be her former schoolmate from high school.
In a statement posted on Instagram on Dec. 17, 2025, Weaver clarified that she had no recollection of the man and that his claim was false.
The encounter occurred during a recent public event in the United States, where the individual approached her, identified himself as a classmate, and requested a photo.

Weaver explained that while she is generally open to taking pictures with fans, she politely declined this time due to discomfort and unfamiliarity.
She noted that the man later went public with the story, leading to accusations online that she was being “classist” or “elitist” for not engaging.
“I have never met this man before in my life. I do not remember him from high school, and I do not believe he attended the same school as me,” Weaver wrote. She explained that she has no obligation to take photos with strangers and urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation.
The incident has reignited conversations about celebrity interactions, privacy, and the pressures faced by high-profile Black women in public spaces.
Weaver, founder of Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey and a prominent advocate for Black history and entrepreneurship, is currently preparing for the global rollout of her brand and related initiatives.
