Ayesha Curry is one of social media’s biggest influencers, but that doesn’t mean she takes lightly to her children being exposed to the platforms.
In a recent Insider interview, the mother of three shared that the pandemic has caused her to be more conscious about what she shares on social media.
“We kind of had a revolving door all the time,” Curry explained about what her family’s life was like before the pandemic. But since then, they have had to “figure out what we want for our lives” and “how to better ourselves.”
Reflecting on her 10-year-old daughter Riley’s use on social media, the wife to NBA star Stephen Curry said that she wishes she could backtrack on some of the things she shared with her followers about her.
“When the social media thing started, nobody knew what that was going to become. If we had known back in the day just how chaotic it would make life, I don’t think we would’ve done it,” she said, adding that at the time, she and her husband thought differently about how the machine worked – not knowing what it would become.
“We were just genuinely living our lives back then. And we thought, ‘This is our kid. We’re bringing our kid along.’”
But now her focus is to ensure that her children live their lives as normal as possible, admitting that they both are still learning about parenthood and what it entails.
“We’re trying to figure out what that balance is. Just kind of learn as you go, right?”
Curry further went on to explain her thoughts about a 2019 Red Table Talk interview she was featured on hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith.
“[The show] was edited in a way that made me sound crazy. It’s not what I said, and the context was weird. Yeah. I took that one personally.”
In the clip, she said that she felt slightly insecure seeing many women lusting over her man while men were not doing the same towards her. The quote, she said, was taken completely out of context.
