The shocking audio has everyone wondering how the pair would appear together on stage this weekend after this expose.
During an episode of the Scam Goddess podcast in 2020, The Bear star trash-talked Jennifer’s music career and referred to it as “one long scam.”
Edebiri questioned the 54-year-old’s singing abilities, expressing fascination with songs that allegedly pass off other artists’ vocals as Jennifer Lopez’s own.
“Today, actually, I was thinking about one of my favorite scams of all time. Before JLO is shooting or performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” they began in the hot take.
To which the 24-year-old Golden Globe winner interjected, “Which is a scam in itself.”
“Her whole career is one long scam. J. Lo can’t sing, and did you know she didn’t know that she can’t sing?”
The pair continued to make harsh statements, claiming J. Lo tricked the masses into believing she was a good singer.
“She thinks she’s on multiple tracks. But it’s not her. I think she thinks that she’s still good even though she’s not signing for most of these songs.
“A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, ‘J. Lo didn’t have time to make it to the studio,’ like, J.Lo was busy. It’s like, ‘Doing what?’ Not singing, obviously,” Edebiri bared all claws.
Sources close to Jennifer Lopez told TMZ she is not bothered about the mean comments. The insider also revealed that J Lo is big on “moving on and moving forward” and she will be happy to put the past behind them.
In the promo for SNL, Lopez said, “I’m really excited. I love your show,” and Edebiri responded, “I love your everything.”
Ayo Edebiri has not publicly addressed her past comments since the audio went viral.
