Beyoncé Becomes The First Female Artist With A Billion Streams On Spotify

by Yah Yah

Beyoncé is known for breaking records. The pop icon is the only person to have her first six albums debut at No.1 in the United States, and she holds the record for having the most Grammy nominations by a female.

The multi-platinum selling artist can now add on another record-breaking feat to her resume, as of yesterday (February 8th) she’s now the first artist to have three of her albums surpass a billion streams on Spotify. Yes, you read the correctly, Queen Bey has surpassed one billion streams!

According to MTV UK, the album that helped the Dangerously in Love singer achieve this was her 2011 release 4. The album that gave us hits like “Party,” “Who Run the World (Girls),” and “Halo” is notably her most underrated album is the album that broke this record. Along with that, I Am…Sasha Fierce and her eponymous self-titled visual album each have a combined of 400 million streams.

What makes this surprising is that her full catalog isn’t even on the streaming service.

Goes to show you that everything Beyoncé touches turns to gold (or platinum.)
