*In our Sofia voice*  CYNTOIA HOME, NOW!!!

Shine My Crown is ELATED to report that Cyntoia Brown, who served 15 years in prison for, essentially, attempting to preserve her own life–was released from prison in Tennessee today. While we feel her ten-year parole period is excessive, we’re happy she is no longer behind physical bars.

Brown was a victim of sex trafficking and abuse and was convicted of killing the man who attempted to purchase her. Read that again. She spent the prime years of her life in prison, entering at the age of 16.

In more wonderful news, Brown has a book slated for release on Oct 15 with Atria, entitled: Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System. The books is reportedly based upon her writings during lockdown.

Crowns up, sis. Welcome home and godspeed.
