A 12-year-old girl has been reported missing in the Houston area, prompting concerns from authorities that she may be a victim of trafficking.

Eminie Hughes disappeared on Feb. 22, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and has not been seen since.

Described as last seen entering a dark-colored four-door Dodge pickup truck, Eminie was wearing a white crop top and pink joggers. The Houston Police Department, as reported by KHOU and Click 2 Houston, is particularly worried about her safety and suspects potential involvement in trafficking.

Reports indicate that Eminie’s mother, Shannon Williams, became alarmed when her daughter failed to return home after requesting an early wake-up call for school on Feb. 22.

Despite being reported missing that day, an Amber Alert was not issued until later, following new information suggesting Eminie was in danger.

Authorities have reason to believe that Eminie may be active on the social media app Tagged, known for facilitating connections between users and serving as a dating platform.

They suspect she could be located in the Missouri City area of Texas.

Expressing deep concern for her daughter’s well-being, Shannon Williams appealed for assistance in locating Eminie, emphasizing her daughter’s vulnerability and lack of understanding of the situation.

“I pray and hope that she’s not in any type of harm’s way,” Williams stated. “She’s a baby. She doesn’t understand what’s actually going on, so it’s been really devastating.”

Individuals with any information regarding Eminie Hughes’ whereabouts are urged to contact the Houston Police Department’s Missing Persons hotline at 832-394-1840.
