In an inspiring milestone, African American twin sisters Doris Ward and Loris Pryor from Detroit recently celebrated their 100th birthday, making history and capturing hearts.

“It’s a blessing to be here at 100 years old,” Doris told Fox 17. Loris echoed the sentiment, saying, “To live this long, I never thought it would happen or not happen. I never thought about it.”

Born and raised in Detroit, Doris and Loris have witnessed a century of change and progress. Together, they have nine children and several generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom recently gathered to honor the sisters’ centennial milestone.

“The good Lord blessed us to still see our family, and that was a blessing,” Doris remarked. The twins have remained inseparable throughout their lives, with Loris noting, “We are always together with everything — everything. She ain’t go without me… I ain’t go without her. (We were) always together.”

Even at 100, the sisters enjoy shared activities like trips to the casino.

However, their fondest memories revolve around dancing. While they couldn’t dance on their birthday, they joyfully tapped their feet to the music as their family celebrated around them.

For Doris and Loris, reaching this age is a cherished gift. “Life is very precious, or I wouldn’t be here,” Loris said. “It’s just precious to live this long.”

This remarkable achievement highlights the sisters’ enduring bond and the richness of a life well-lived, serving as an inspiration to many.
