Singer Erykah Badu has issued a public apology to Michelle and Barack Obama for posting a clip of them dancing the night away at the former president’s 60th birthday bash.

“Mr. And Mrs. Obama , Please forgive me 4 being the ‘terrible guest’ at such a sacred event for your family,” Badu tweeted. “I was so inconsiderate, Thank you for all your love. What an example of ‘how NOT ‘to be …… erica.”

Prior to the event, Obama was forced to scale back his planned 60th birthday party on Martha’s Vineyard amid concerns about the Delta variant of Covid-19.

The Obama’s were originally planning to hold the event outside and follow all US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public health protocols. They were also planning to test all guests who attended the party.

“This outdoor event was planned months ago in accordance with all public health guidelines and with covid safeguards in place,” Hannah Hankins, a spokeswoman for Obama, said in a statement to CNN days before the party. “Due to the new spread of the delta variant over the past week, the President and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends.”

Gayle King, Tom Hanks, Chrissy Teigen, Alicia Keys and Steven Spielberg were all in attendance. John Legend, H.E.R., performed at the star-studded event as did Erykah Badu.

Last November, Badu made headlines after she shared some unusual results from one of her Covid-19 tests.

“No symptoms. Was tested for COVID. Same machine. Left nostril positive. Right nostril negative,” Badu tweeted. “Maybe they need to call Swiss Beats so they can do a versus between them. Funny thing is, Dr. ONLY reported the positive result. What the fack is goin on here. Rapid Test. $$$$ smh.”

She later shared that she did not have the virus.
