Jennifer Lopez, who has been engaged six times and married four times, believes that the men she chose were unable to love.
During a heartfelt discussion on The Howard Stern Show on October 15, Lopez reflected on her complex romantic history, which includes well-known relationships with Ben Affleck, Marc Anthony, and Alex Rodriguez. When Stern directly asked her if she felt she had ever truly been loved, Lopez took a moment before answering, “No.”
Her single-word response resonated deeply with fans. Lopez elaborated, saying, “What I learned, it’s not that I’m not lovable. It’s that they’re not capable. They don’t have it in them. They need to appreciate the little person inside of them. They need to love them.”
This revelation carries significant weight coming from someone who has lived much of her life under public scrutiny regarding her romantic entanglements. From her early 2000s iconic relationship with Affleck to her marriage with Marc Anthony, which resulted in her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, Lopez’s love life has always been a blend of passion and complexity.
Despite the numerous engagements and grand romantic gestures, she expressed that none of these experiences managed to fulfill her. “They gave me what they had,” she recounted. “They gave me all of it, every time. All the rings, all the things I could ever want. Tried to give me the houses, the rings, the marriage, all of it.”
Stern hit the nail on the head: “But they didn’t love you.” Without hesitation, J.Lo responded softly, “They didn’t. And I didn’t love myself.”
As for her current dating situation? Following her well-publicized breakup with Affleck earlier this year, Jennifer Lopez appears to be focusing on herself rather than seeking a new relationship.
