We’re just weeks away from the highly-anticipated exchange of wedding vows between Olympic medalist Simone Biles and her hubby NFL player Jonathan Owens.
Over the weekend, family and friends of the engaged couple came together to witness her lofty bridal shower under the theme “On Cloud 9.”
Biles rocked a stunning white beaded gown, while her friends donned sapphire-colored attire.
The shower took place at The Juliana, a luxurious outdoor studio and event space in Houston. White balloons, a white crème cake and neon lights with the phrases “Bride to Be,” “On Cloud 9,” and “Simone Owens” added a modern flair to the venue, which had a cocktail truck and served Southern cuisine to guests.
The famed gymnast recently posted engagement photos with her soon-to-be-hubby who is a safety for the Houston Texans. The beautiful couple shared heartwarming photos from their engagement photo shoot in which they wore color-coordinated outfits. Both Biles and Owens posed in white t-shirts, denim jeans and white Air Force Ones. They accessorized their look with silver accoutrements.
In one shot, the American Olympian holds her fiancé’s face with her hand, revealing her stunning diamond engagement ring, which is paired with a silver band that has her future last name engraved.
“THE future owens” the Gold medalist captioned the pics, which feature the work of high-profile photographer @raetay_photography and makeup stylist to the stars @glamherj.
The footballer fiancé commented on Biles’ post with a heart hands emoji and a red heart.
“PLEASE heavily document your wedding,” one fan wrote.Another posted: “Wow I can’t wait for the BIG day.
A month before, the couple wore matching costumes for Halloween: she was a flame of fire, while he dressed up as a firefighter. And on Valentine’s Day, the Texans star proposed to her wearing a black turtleneck under a gray suit while she wore a black leather dress.
It is unclear where the wedding will take place, but rumor has it that it will be a destination beach wedding with family and loved ones in tow.
Biles is highly regarded as an artistic gymnast with seven Olympic medals, making her the most decorated Olympic gymnast – a title she shares with fellow Olympian Shannon Miller. She has won 25 World Championship medals and is considered to be one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. In 2022, Joe Biden awarded her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
