This week, as the country remains divided over whether to acknowledge Columbus Day or Indigenous People’s Day, R&B singer AMEA made her stance clear with the release of her first single of 2017 titled “Space(ships).” The vibrant, animated visuals are an ode to both her Native and African roots. “Space(ships),” is taken from the San Antonio based artist’s upcoming album The Learning Tree Pt. 1. Produced by AMEA alongside Jonah Conrad and James Blue, the song’s chorus is inspired by Kanye West.
