Grammy-winning artist SZA in a recent interview with Vogue magazine, opened up about her decision to get a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) and the regrets and revelations that came with it.
Like many other singers in the industry, SZA’s body has been a topic of conversation for years.
The 33-year-old old hinted at getting a Brazilian butt lift in the intro to her 2022 album “SOS.” SZA has been transparent about receiving a BBL but found allegations of other surgeries to be “offensive,” asserting that her freckles, face, lips, and nose have not been surgically altered.
SZA is opening up about her BBL and admits she somewhat regrets it in a recent feature with British Vogue.
SZA revealed that her journey to undergoing the popular cosmetic procedure began in early 2022. Despite dedicating herself to gym workouts and building muscle, she noticed her progress with her lower body, particularly her butt, was not growing. Feeling dissatisfied, she opted for a BBL to enhance her buttocks.
However, the experience wasn’t what she had hoped for. “I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat,” she explained, describing the aftermath of the procedure. “It was just so stupid. But who gives a f**? You got a BBL, you realize you didn’t need the sht.”
While SZA admitted the surgery ultimately wasn’t necessary, she also used the moment to reflect on the importance of mental health and self-acceptance. “I have other sht that I need to work on about myself,” she shared. “I need to get my f**ing mental health together. Not to say you can’t do those things simultaneously, just, for me, I realize wherever you go, there you’ll be.”
Despite her regrets about the process, SZA wasn’t shy about celebrating the outcome. “But I love my butt. Don’t get me wrong,” she said. “My booty looks nice. And I’m grateful that it looks pretty much. I don’t know, sometimes natural, but I don’t even care. It’s something that I wanted. I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it.”
