As the fallout from the Oscars debacle continues, a video of Will Smith urging his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, not to film him without his consent or to use him for “clout” has resurfaced online in a Reddit thread.

“You know [therapist] Esther Perel is coming to the table — she’s gonna be at the ‘Red Table,'” Pinkett Smith says before panning the camera to her husband. “Would you say she has been instrumental in you and I redefining our relationship?”

Smith is clearly not in the mood to be filmed: “I would say don’t just start filming me without asking me.”

After telling viewers that she is “still dealing with foolishness,” she rephrased the original question: “Would you say that she [Perel] helped us heal the hurts that we caused between one another?”

Her husband then clearly states: “My social media presence is my bread and butter. So you can’t just use me for social media. Don’t just start rolling; I’m standing in my house. Don’t start rolling.”

Of course, people have weighed in on the clip, pointing out that the Oscar award-winning actor appears to be anxious and uncomfortable in the clip.

The Smith’s have lived their lives publicly and have often spoken about the issues they faced in their relationship over the years.

“Her happiness is not my responsibility. She should be happy and I should be happy individually, then we can come together and share happiness,” Smith once said.

In 2013, Pinkett Smith told Huffington Post Live: “I’ve always told Will, ‘You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be OK?’ At the end of the day, Will is his own man.”

Since Smith publicly slapped Chris Rock, both have remained fairly lowkey in the aftermath. Smith released a statement sharing that he had stepped down from the Academy.
