Over the past two days, DaBaby has been splashed all over the headlines for homophobic remarks he made at the Rolling Loud Miami Festival on Sunday.
After making several bizarre statements about the LGBTQ community and HIV and AIDS, the rapper was forced to apologized amid calls to cancel him and his music.
“Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset,” he wrote. “what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies. But the LGBT community … I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. y’all business is y’all business.”
Chika was not here for his apology.
“Then why are you tryna insert yourself into it?” she tweeted in response. “Must be OUR business, huh, Jonny?”
“DaBaby walked around in a diaper surrounded by n-ggas but wanna speak on…the gays???” she said, sharing an old picture of DaBaby wearing a giant rapper.
And she didn’t quit there: “Maybe change your f-ckin flow for ONCE and write a song you haven’t written before being a homophobic piece of sh-t. You are quite literally mediocre in every way. Don’t let that money go to your head, kiddo.”
DaBaby’s remarks led to fashion brand, BoohooMAN ditching him and his line.
Chika also had time for Boosie Badazz, who defended Dababy’s speech while using a homophobic slur to blast openly gay rapper Lil Nas X.
“It seems to me that Boosie is mad that he can’t suppress his sexuality without the temptation of oiled up scantily clad n-ggas making it hard. (‘it’ being his d-ck.),” she continued.
“This conversation isn’t about being DL, because that conversation is far more nuanced than y’all make it. and quite frankly, Twitter won’t handle it with care. however, it’s wild that the loudest homophobes have homoerotic tendencies themselves. yet condemn those who are open.”
