Lizzo, the renowned 4x Grammy Award-winning artist, has clarified her recent social media post, affirming that she is not stepping away from the music industry.

Last week, the singer shared a cryptic message on Instagram hinting at her frustration with critics and negative energy.

However, in a new video shared today (Apr. 2), Lizzo clarified her stance, stating, “When I say ‘I quit,’ I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention.”

Addressing her followers, Lizzo stated her commitment to her music and her connection with her audience. She expressed her desire to spread positivity and inspire others to stand up against negativity.

“What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting to people,” she declared.

In her earlier post, Lizzo had lamented the challenges she faces in the public eye, including false narratives and criticisms.

She expressed frustration over being targeted for her appearance and character, stating:

“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout and views.”

The artist is currently embroiled in legal disputes, including a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by three former dancers and another lawsuit from a former employee alleging bullying, harassment, and racial discrimination within her team.

Despite these challenges, Lizzo says she remains determined to move forward and stay true to herself.

“If I can just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people, negative comments win then I’ve done even more than I could’ve hoped for. I’m going to keep moving forward and keep being me,” she said.
