Diana Ross To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At The 2017 AMAs

The iconic Diana Ross will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 American Music Awards. Ross was chosen as this year’s recipient for her exceptional contributions to the music industry.

“I have endless memories of all the years that I have appeared on the American Music Awards,” the singer said in a statement. “It started with Dick Clark and The Caravan of Stars and American Bandstand. It was Dick Clark who said, ‘Music is the soundtrack of our lives.’ So true. I am so excited to be receiving this honorable award.”

Ross currently holds seven AMAs and also hosted the show in 1986 and 1987.

Her daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross also took to Instagram to congratulate her.

This year the show will air on November 19 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
