The top model revealed how her divorce from her husband, Michael Sterling, made her depressed while navigating life to rediscover herself.
On Tuesday, April 9, Eva Marcille appeared on an episode of The Tamron Hall Show, where she opened up about her new slimmer look.
“I came here to be transparent. I went through a divorce last year. Anyone who has ever been through a divorce knows that divorce is hard. It’s like, and you will be skinny afterward,” Eva Marcille disclosed.
Speaking at her appearance at the Beverly Hill Hotel in August 2023, where photos from the event prompted the buzz about her weight loss, Marcille said she “thought” she looked cute.
The former America’s Next Top Model winner opened up about dealing with her divorce and finding herself.
“If you are a 200-lb person, you will at least drop 30 lbs. So, for me, I lost weight just naturally going through life, and I found myself depressed. Before my divorce, through my divorce, I was trying to just navigate and rediscover who I was,” she continued. “Who am I? I’m not the wife anymore. I’m not someone’s someone. I’m someone’s mom, but if I took the mom away, if I took the top model away, who is Eva?
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum opened up about the negativity she received after Instagram followers commented on her slim figure last August.
She confirmed that she blocked her comments section because people said nasty things about her weight.
Absolutely, right? But where do you put them? The negative feelings, the things that are not good, where do you put them? You try to bury them down in your person.”

Eva Marcille has two sons, Michael Jr., 5, and Maverick, 3, with ex-husband Michael Sterling. She also shares a daughter, Marley Rae, 10, with ex Kevin McCall.
