Jhené Aiko has released a short film, titled Trip. The 23-minute long film was written and co-directed by Aiko and Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip). With Aiko’s spoken word and new music as the backdrop, Aiko plays Penny, a young lady who is mourning the loss of her brother and is desperately searching for a brother’s love. In the midst of all of this, she meets a guy named Dante on the beach, who invites her to tag along with him on a trip… The adventure turns out to be a journey of self-discovery for Penny who eventually, begins to heal.
The project is a part of the promotional campaign for her forthcoming album, titled Trip 17.
