“Incredibly proud of this one,” UCLA coach Janelle McDonald wrote on X. “TEAM is what it is about & the Bruins showed up for each other today.”

Despite the loss, Michigan State made history by setting a program attendance record, drawing 9,887 fans and surpassing the previous mark of 6,250.

“I’m extremely proud of what the team did today,” Michigan State coach Mike Rowe said. “The attendance record is really exciting. The energy is electric. The more amped they are, the better they score.”

The victory keeps UCLA unbeaten in Big Ten competition and reinforces the Bruins’ early-season momentum as they continue to rely on both veteran leadership and impactful contributions from younger gymnasts.
